Georgia has its own marketplace
Since the 2025 plan year, Georgians buy Marketplace plans through Georgia Access instead of HealthCare.gov. You can apply there yourself, and we can walk you through your options and the application. The federal tax credit and the plan rules are the same.
For 2026 coverage, 1,301,254 Georgians picked a Marketplace plan, the second-largest state-run marketplace after California.12

Georgia Pathways: Medicaid with work rules
Who it affects: Adults with income up to the poverty level.
Georgia did not expand Medicaid in the usual way. Instead, Georgia Pathways covers adults with income up to 100% of the poverty level who meet a work, school, job-training or volunteering requirement, or an exemption.
The program runs under federal approval through December 31, 2026, and has to align with the new federal Medicaid work rules after that. If you are on Pathways or applying, expect changes in 2027.34
Who can get help paying
Between 1 and 4 times the poverty level you can usually get a tax credit, $27,320 to $109,280 a year for a family of three. Children qualify at much higher incomes, through Medicaid or PeachCare for Kids.56
Which insurers sell plans
Georgia’s 2027 plans appear on Georgia Access when open enrollment opens on November 1. Which insurers you can choose depends on your county.2
