What is a Network?
- A group of doctors, hospitals, or medical facilities that have a preferential contract with a given insurance company.
This means that each insurance company has their own group of doctors, hospitals, or medical facilities that they have a preferred contract with called network. It is important to check to see if your desired doctors or hospitals are in your carrier specific network, or else the insurance company will not cover the costs of your treatments or your financial responsibilities will be higher then in their network.
